Meet our Aurora Staff
Christian Evans
|
Christian has lived in Aurora for almost 20 years with his wife, Susie and their three children; Charlie, Will and Lauren. He is licensed in Property & Casualty and Crop insurance. Prior to coming to Cornerstone, Christian was employed at Grain Place Foods as President and Chief Operating Officer. He enjoys hunting, golfing, fishing, metal detecting, attending their children’s numerous activities and visiting his family in Wisconsin, where he was born and raised. Christian is involved in Rotary, various community groups, volunteering at his church, and sits on the Board of Directors of OCIA, Intl.

Christie Schulze
|
Christie grew up in Aurora, Nebraska and attended college at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She has been in the insurance industry since 2015, when she joined Cornerstone Insurance Group. Christie holds a Property & Casualty and Crop insurance license. Christie and her husband, Jay, have two sons.

Kyle Larson
|
Kyle grew up in Aurora and graduated from high school from Aurora. He joined the insurance business in November 2024, when he joined Cornerstone Insurance Group. He has earned his Property & Casualty license. He also enjoys watching movies, golfing, spending time with his family, playing in recreational leagues, and watching all things Cornhusker.

Derek DeMers
|
Derek is a native of Hordville, Nebraska, and a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He began his career at Union Bank & Trust, where he specialized in managing employer-sponsored retirement accounts. In January 2025, he joined Cornerstone Insurance Group, bringing valuable experience in financial services. Derek is licensed in Property & Casualty as well as Crop Insurance.
In 2022, Derek and his wife, Margaret, relocated to Aurora, where they now reside with their son, Karson. Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time outdoors and pursuing his interests in hunting, fishing, golfing, and smoking meats. |
BRENT BUDLER

Brent grew up in York and attended college at Concordia University in Seward. After graduating, he moved to Ningbo, China, where he met his wife, Yingyan Mao. They both worked in pre-K and elementary education. He joined Cornerstone Insurance in 2026 and is currently working towards obtaining his Property & Casualty insurance license.
He and his wife now reside in Aurora with their daughter, Alethea. Outside of work, the family stays active playing sports together, taking evening walks around town, tending to their garden, and visiting China often. |
Ione Arnett

Ione Arnett grew up in the Hampton, Nebraska area and has called Aurora home for many years. After graduating from high school, she attended Grand Island Beauty School. Ione joined Cornerstone Insurance Group in January 2011 and serves as an Administrative Assistant, providing exceptional support to both our clients and insurance team.
