CENTRAL CITY - Merrick County Child Development Center has received a $500 Community Contest Award through the 2026 IMT Insurance Community Contest after being nominated by Cornerstone Insurance Group.

The award will support the center's School Age Summer Program, benefiting local children and families throughout Merrick County.

"We're honored to partner with IMT Insurance to support organizations that make a difference in the communities we serve," said Ann Heinen. "Merrick County Child Development Center provides an important service for local families, and we're excited to see this award help support its School Age Summer Program."

For 29 years, the IMT Insurance Community Contest has recognized projects that strengthen communities throughout the Midwest. This year, IMT Insurance presented 48 Community Contest Awards, totaling $30,000, to organizations making a positive impact in their hometowns.

At our Cornerstone Insurance Group office in Columbus, we believe being part of the community means more than helping protect what matters most—it means giving back to the people and organizations that make Columbus such a great place to call home.

One of our favorite traditions each summer is sponsoring Hartman Post 84 Baseball Fan Appreciation Night. For the past 11 years, we've enjoyed helping create a fun night at the ballpark by providing free Cornerstone Insurance Group T-shirts and complimentary popcorn for fans while cheering on our local team. This year's game on June 3 was one to remember, with the Columbus Seniors earning a thrilling 4–3 victory over rival Kearney.

We're incredibly grateful to Hartman Post 84 for allowing us to be part of their program year after year. Supporting local youth, families, and community events is something we're proud to do because this community has supported us for so many years.

Cornerstone Insurance Group is proud to recognize Gage Sinsel, Customer Service Agent, on graduating from the Leadership York Class of 2026.

Leadership York is a community leadership program that brings together individuals from a variety of professions to learn more about York, build meaningful connections, and develop the skills to make a positive impact in our community.

Throughout the program, participants explored local industries, organizations, and civic opportunities while collaborating on the class project, Flavors of York. The project raised $2,000 for the York Public Schools Foundation and $2,000 for York County Kids, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
Graduates were recognized during a celebration on June 3 at the York Country Club, where former Nebraska Senator Greg Adams encouraged the class to continue serving and leading within their communities.

We are proud of Gage for representing Cornerstone Insurance Group and for investing in the future of York through leadership and community involvement.
