Welcome to Cornerstone Insurance Group in Polk.  Polk is a village in Polk County, Nebraska and was platted in 1906 when Union Pacific officials established two towns, Polk and Hordville, on a branch line from Stromsburg to Central City.  Polk is home to the local consolidated high school of High Plains Community Schools.  The staff in Polk looks forward to serving your insurance needs.

Derek is a native of Hordville, Nebraska, and a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He began his career at Union Bank & Trust, where he specialized in managing employer-sponsored retirement accounts. In January 2025, he joined Cornerstone Insurance Group, bringing valuable experience in financial services. Derek is licensed in Property & Casualty as well as Crop Insurance.
In 2022, Derek and his wife, Margaret, relocated to Aurora, where they now reside with their son, Karson. Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time outdoors and pursuing his interests in hunting, fishing, golfing, and smoking meats.
