York is known as “Crossroads of America” as it is a few miles from the geographical center of the United States. The city was founded in 1869 by the South Platte Land Company and is the county seat for York County. Settled between Interstate 80, US Highway 81, and US Highway 34, York is the birthplace of the National 4-H Program. This city with just under 8,000 residents has many building with distinctive features that were built by the Works Progress Administration during World War II. Our 1st street office joined Cornerstone Insurance Group in 2006 when Cornerstone Bank bought York Insurance Agency. The Staff at 1st Street looks forward to serving you.

Ben grew up on a farm near Palmyra, Nebraska and attended college at Peru State. He began his career in insurance in 1995 and joined Cornerstone Insurance Group in 2006. Ben has obtained his Property & Casualty, Life & Health, and Crop insurance licenses and has earned a CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation. Ben volunteers his time with the Living Water Rescue Mission, Epworth Village Foundation, York Park and Rec committee, FCA, Rotary and Arbor Drive Community Church. He also enjoys golfing, hunting and spending time with his wife and three children.

Kelly grew up in David City, Nebraska and attended college at Doane College. He began his insurance career in 2002 and then joined Cornerstone Insurance Group in 2007. Kelly has obtained his Property & Casualty and Crop insurance licenses. He has also obtained his CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designations. Kelly is involved in Teammates, Optimist Club, and coaching youth sports. He and his wife, Amy, have a son, Aidan, and a daughter, Addy.

Janelle grew up north of York and attended college at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She began her insurance career in 1993 and joined Cornerstone Insurance Group when York Insurance Group was purchased by Cornerstone in 2006. Janelle obtained her Property & Casualty, Life & Health and Crop insurance licenses. She also holds a CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation. Janelle is volunteers at Adopt a Pet, Wessels Living History Farm and is a board member for York TeamMates. She and her husband, John, live outside of York.
